What are the benefits of 3D and 4D Ultrasounds?

There are many prenatal diagnostic purposes for which 3D and 4D ultrasounds can be of help. While 2D ultrasounds are critical, too, adding the third and fourth planes to the view can allow a medical professional to view development issues as diverse as cleft lip / palate, Down syndrome, neural tube defects, congenital malformations such as clubfoot, cord around the neck etc.

Will I always get a beautiful picture of my baby ?

Usually, but not always. Sometimes if the baby is persistently looking face down, i.e. towards your spine it may be difficult to see the baby’s face. If this happens, a repeat scan in one hour will usually succeed because the baby has turned to a favorable position. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fuid, and mother’s condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen.

What makes the Early View experience so unique?

•    No doctor’s referral is necessary
•    We employ highly trained radiologists

How long does the 4D Ultrasound Take?

The 4D ultrasound session will last between 15 and 30 minutes. You can have the images printed with the report or downloaded on a CD. Real time movement of the baby inside the womb can also be recorded and played back on the computer using Windows Media Player soft ware.

How far along should I be before I have a 4D Ultrasound?

If you plan on having only one 4D ultrasound examination, we would recommend having the examination performed between the 26th and 34th week of the pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained anytime after about 22 weeks of pregnancy. Many mothers obtain more than one 4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from their second and third trimester.

Are you curious to see what your baby looks like before it is born?

Seeing your baby for the first time is a special experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life!

What is 3D and 4D Ultrasound ?

A 4D ultrasound represents the difference between still photography (3D) and live action. This means that your baby’s 3D image is continuously updated providing you with live action.

An elective 3D & 4D prenatal sonogram evaluates the following: the number of babies in the womb, confirmation of the baby’s heartbeat and the babies’ general features. Our elective 3D/4D sonograms provide a reassuring experience for the mother father, family and friends.
